Behind the Scenes: Meet the Founders
Ahead of our upcoming day retreat we wanted to take a moment to re-introduce the founders that will be apart of the expert team looking after you and guiding you through your magical Oriri day.
1. Katherine Lewis – Creative Arts Facilitator and Mindfulness Advocate
Background: Katherine is an arts graduate with a background in fine art photography and abstract art expression work. She can usually be found working with clay and resin in her home studio or running creative mindfulness workshops around Gloucestershire. Katherine has a certificate in MBSR from the British Mindfulness Institute, is a fully qualified Mental Health First Aider and is currently studying a CPD accredited training course in art therapy.
Specialties:
- Mindful Art Sessions: She creates a space where everyone can thrive and reconnect with their inner creativity, often leading sessions that encourage you to embrace your inner child and explore a sense of playfulness.
- Guided Meditation: Katherine’s serene voice and grounding presence help participants connect with their inner selves through mindfulness practices.
2. Ellen Dacombe – Somatic Movement and Sound Bath Facilitator
Background: Ellen’s journey has been deeply intertwined with the art of movement. Introduced to Gabrielle Roth’s 5 Rhythms at a tender age, she found refuge and comfort in the dance. Her path has been rich and diverse, embracing styles from contemporary to partner dances.
Specialties
- Somatic Movement: Having recently completed her MA in Dance Science and Somatics, she takes a holistic approach to creating space and time for the body, focusing on embodiment, grounding, and gentle movement.
- Sound Baths: Using Tibetan singing bowls, she lulls you into a state of serenity through the powerful vibrations they produce
